Thrown suddenly upon their own intellectual and physical resources, without central control, humans seek survival by their own means, either in the dead cities or up the eerily deserted back roads.The morning commute had turned into a nightmare. The radio was reporting L.A. and San Francisco had been nuked, and everyone was trying to get off the freeways. Some were trying to get last minute things, and the news was telling everyone to go to their homes and wait for further instructions. ... does my wife know what isgoing on? ... Looking over to the other corner, at the Gas Station, I could see it was full of cars, not for gas, but trying to get around the non-working traffic light.
