HOM is dedicated to sponsoring and participating in community events that keep us active and visible, and carry our message of inclusion to the greater San Diego County.These events include:
HOM Lawn Program, held annually in March at the International Cottages venue, is an afternoon of live music, ballet folkorico, and delicious Mexican food.
Ethnic Food Fair, is a grand event attended by thousands and is hosted by the House of Pacific Relations on Memorial Day Day weekend, features traditional food, drink, and entertainment representing the member houses.
December Nights, held since 1978 on the first weekend of December and formerly known as Christmas on the Prado. It is a family fun event that provides free admission to Park museums, music and dance entertainment, and member houses sell traditional holiday food and drink from around the world.
HOM Installation of Officers Dinner is held annually in January to formally honor newly elected officers and is a festive evening of music, food, dancing, and art.
HOM Tardeada is an afternoon celebration held in July to show appreciation for the support of our members and friends. It's a warm and friendly event filled with live music, dancing, and a variety of Mexican food and drinks. A salsa contest, held to recognize the most delicious salsa has seen an increase in entries since it began in 2006.
Arte, Color, y Fiesta
is a biannual fundraising festival celebrating art featuring an exhibition of artwork by renowned artists from the United States and Mexico. It includes a silent and live auction, food beverages, and entertainment by local musicians and ballet folklorico dance groups.
HOM General Membership meetings occur the second Monday of every month. Everyone is welcome to attend these meetings. Currently we meet at the Sherman Heights Community Center 2258 Island Avenue, San Diego, CA 92102.
